Guest guest
ok, here's a question, nanda. wouldn't maa know that you are having trouble getting your sadhana in? i mean, why would you have to tell her? [i am still trying to understand how the guru 'works.'] Vikram asked : can you please ask shree ma on my behalf "since she is incarnation of Shri Sarada devi, does she know that i pray to sarada devi and think of her always and does she know about my health problem too" Dear all, esp Berijoy and Vikram, Does Maa know about your health problem Vikram, and did she know about the trouble I had getting sadhana ? Before I share my opinion, I would like to share a small passage from "Ramakrishna - The Nectar of Eternal Bliss", and I paraphrase the story. Ramakrishna tells the story of many people going to a cloth dyer . They hand over a piece of cloth to the dyer and ask him to dye it in the color of their choice. To which, the dyer dips every piece into the SAME vat of dye but produces different hues for different people. Same vat of dye, but different colors. This story to me, signifies how PERSONAL is one's perception of God and of Guru. So while I can tell you with absolute certainty what I think Maa is or is not , another too can share a different opinion with the same certainty. And both of us would be correct. What do I think ? I think Maa is a very wise woman and can easily assess a person. Once I had asked Her if She could make out the nature of a person by simply looking at him/her. To which She categorically responded "YES" So I would say Maa knew about my sadhana or lack of it. But like all mothers, She waited for me to come and confide in Her and did not push me when I wasnt ready. So I would say, Maa knows human nature quite a bit and also knows when to give space. So the question becomes - "what am I really looking for ?" What REALLY is the function of a Guru ? In my humble opinion, I believe a Guru has achieved deep inner peace because of union with God, and can show me how to achieve the same peace . Regarding whether she knows of someone's health problem - I couldnt tell you. Maybe She does, and maybe She doesnt ! It really depends on your perception of Her. But I will certainly forward your question to Swamiji. JAI SHREE MAANanda
Guest guest
Maa knows everything. Shree Maa is Maa. So Shree Maa knows everything. She knows everything so well, and so completely that she knows exactly what is best for us in every conceivable circumstance, and because she is the Guru she only does what she knows is absolutely the best for us. That means she plays along with our minds and coddles us when the fall and scuff our spiritual knees. She ignores our disrespectful attitude because she knows we don't know that we're being disrespectful. She prays for us all, simultaneously to fulfill our duty to Her, but she does not tell us how to do that because of the promise she made: "As long as you exercise your freedom of will, I will not interfere." Freedom of will is built into the system She designed, built into the very fabric of our reality, the reality She created for us. When she sees that we are ready to receive her blessings, she bestows them upon us without hesitation, no matter how we perceive them, no matter if we open our arms or cover our eyes and close our minds. It is not possible to measure the act of Goddess, there is no stick by which it can be measured. She does what is absolutely necessary to aid us on our spiritual journeys. She does it without hesitation, without trepidation, without thought and without a doubt -- for our highest benefit. We may feel shocked, hurt, angry, upset, peaceful, loved, hated, belittled, boosted, or just have a sore rump from all the kicks she gives us, but that is merely our mental, physical and emotional reactions to her actions upon us, actions we asked for and she blessed upon us. In reality, everything she does is with purpose and it is for us. She does not need anything from us. She is perfected within and without. If She asks for something, it is for us. If She offers something it is for us. This, I feel, is why Swami Satyananda and Shree Maa offer the lesson of devotion. Because they are perfect devotees, perfectly devoted to us, to serving us, to helping us along our path. They care not for themselves, they could leave in an instant and be off to the Himalayas, or into the after life. They stay only for us, that we may realize the truth of who we are. I don't really know how the Guru works, but I am thinking that perhaps Maa was gently working behind the scenes to get you to confide in her. Not pushing, but softly pulling:) The story you shared touched me because it is a lesson in opening up and letting go of our ideas of what we should be like, and our notion that we must never admit to falling even if everyone can see us lying on the floor. Only if we acknowledge that we are down, can we begin to find the way up. It also showed me that for a pure soul, the one turning to you with a problem is never a burden but an opportunity. thanks for sharing, with love, Henny -- In , Nanda <chandimaakijai> wrote: > Berijoy said : > ok, here's a question, nanda. wouldn't maa know that you are having trouble getting your sadhana in? i mean, why would you have to tell her?
