Guest guest
My father passed away this last Thursday. I seem to recall that immediate family of the deceased are supposed to not participate in pujas, sankalpas, etc. for a period of time. Can someone explain what would be appropriate? -- Len/ Kalipadma ....mrityorma amritam gamaya... __ Sports Rekindle the Rivalries. Sign up for Fantasy Football http://football.fantasysports. Guest guest
dear Len, it is a difficult time, the period around the loss of such a loved one. my opinion, for what it's worth, is that you go ahead and do whatever feels right to you. if you want to pray, you pray as much or as little as you can. if you want to perform rituals or rites, you do whichever ones feel good, or make up ones that do. if you want to have others pray for your father, or for you, you just ask us (we do that each weekend anyway:) if you want to do nothing but sit and stare at the leaves quivering on the branches, and the clouds passing in the sky, well you just go ahead and do that for as long as you like. the only rule is this: just breathe. may your father's soul, and yours, and the souls of all your ancestors, find the peace, freedom, and happiness that is their true nature. love and blessings, ~leela > > , Len Rosenberg <kalipadma108> > wrote: > > > > My father passed away this last Thursday.
