Guest guest
Dear All, Today I was chatting with a devotee (of Shree Maa ) and she shared a story about Kunti - the mother of the Pandavas. When she was a young girl, Kunti was fortunate to serve the great sage Durvasa who was staying as a guest of her father the King Kuntibhoja. Durvasa was very pleased with Kunti's seva and asked her to take any boon from him. The young Kunti was very wise. She asked Durvasa to grant her a boon that would be favorable and in harmony with her future. Notice that Kunti did not ask for what she wanted at that present moment . She was essentially asking for a mind to accept everything that happened to her to be the best thing that could happen to her. It drove home the lesson that what we want to happen NOW may not always be good for us . What we so badly want today may not always be in harmony with our better interest. A good principle to remember the next time we ask Chandi in the 13th Chapter - give me pure devotion to you Maa and the grace to accept every event as your will. And oh, the story goes that Durvasa initiated Kunti into a mantra which when chanted would result in the birth of illustrious sons. And so Karna and later the Pandavas were born. But thats another story Jai Maa Nanda
