Guest guest
Here's our verse today - 158. He actually becomes the Guru, and always the knower of the Supreme Divinity. Wherever he may go, all places become pure without a doubt. Please share your thoughts and keep the bhav of this Song, this Song which proclaims Guru as King. Pranams. Guest guest
Kalia, This, to me, is a very hopeful and beautiful verse. It extolls the beauty and grace of the guru, and at the same time reminds us, in the midst of our personal struggles, that this is the future that awaits us. Jai Maa! Guest guest
"actually becomes the Guru". One could, and maybe should, take this to mean, the true disciple becomes one with their Guru. Full on discipleship is to live the example of the Guru fully, so much so that one is merged with the Guru. The verse seems to point toward the ultimate attainment, and the cost of such attainment is to fully lose oneself in love. Beloved Guru Ji, Let us become "lost at last". Let us swim in the waves of devotion, of love for our beloved. Let us lose ourselves in God forever. Guest guest
where is the Guru? this is center of everything, so there is no place you can look that is not you. there is no place that separates you from you. when you are there, there is no guru that is elsewhere, you are That. at that point, your devotions can't be enhanced by reminders of the deity, because you are within That. "always the knower" means, there is no time in that timelessness, not only space but time are also compressed into now and here. it does not mean "he/she became the Guru in 1985 until he/she dropped the body," that example is a secondary, dualistic interpretation. meditators disireing the infinite wish to get past that level of thinking asap. all such statements from the gitas are sepcifically designed to move us beyond mind-generated limitation, not to lock one into lines of social obedience. the yogi is free, even of himself, even of any human form, he obeys only GOD. jai maaaaaaaa! , Kali Kali <kaliananda_saraswati> wrote: > > Here's our verse today - > > > > 158. Guest guest
Nirmala, Yes! Your perspective adds wonderful depth to this beautiful verse. One need only look at Mother and Swmaiji to see the truth in what you have said. Each of them reflect their respective gurudevas beautifully. Jai Maa! Guest guest
Lovely comment, Steve, on the Knowing of the gurudeva. I haven't read further yet, so I don't know who else has responded, but isn't it interesting that while I wrote a general statement on the entire verse, Nirmalananda was inspired to comment on the Becomming part, and you were inspired to comment on the Knowing?
