Soul of existence. The wise, wherever, whether day or night, take

delight in this union.

In Dense Darkness,O Mother by Swami Vivekananda

"In dense darkness, O Mother,

Thy formless beauty sparkles;

Therefore the yogis meditate in a dark mountain cave.

In the lap of boundless dark,

on Mahanirvana's waves unborn,

Peace flows serene and inexhaustible.

Taking the form of the Void,

in the robe of darkness wrapped,

Who art Thou, Mother,

seated alone in the shrine of samadhi?

>From the Lotus of Thy fear-scattering Feet

flash Thy love's lightnings;

Thy Spirit-Face shines forth

with laughter terrible and loud!"

Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji! Jai Thakur!

Dancing on the waves of bliss,

muktimaa

Kalia,

This is the verse that completes the arc of discipleship. From the

beginning of the Guru Gita, where we are introduced to the Guru as

"the divine Cause of perceivable existence," and as "the Supreme

Divinity and no other," we follow an arc of awakening that finds its

culmination here, "unite[ing] the individual soul with the Supreme

Soul of existence."

In between, we are given the practices of remembering the feet of the

guru, constantly remembering the guru, repeating the guru mantra,

intuiting only the attitude of the guru, and no other, and meditating

on the guru, along with the path of the guru, in various ways, in the

crown of the head and in the heart, and as the Supreme Divinity,

Shiva. Having purified the mind, the wisdom of one's own soul arises

in the heart, and one finds "he alone is established everywhere." In

this state, one recites the Guru Gita in every situation.

Finally, one is able to let go of the container, the last vestige of

individual separation, and one is merged in the ocean of

undifferentiated Brahman, the Guru Itself. The disciple has truly

become the Guru, by the grace of the Guru.

"May the respected Guru's divine perception eternally be fixed upon [us]."

Jai Gurudeva!

Jai Maa!

Thanks Chrisji.

At this stage the disciple has awakened to the knowledge that birth,

death and old age are only of the body and not of the soul. There is

no you and me, no separateness, no attachment to the body only pure

consciousness.
