Guest guest
Hi Sangha. Wanted to give you an example of Swamiji's teachings in action ... I have been getting my sadhana back online after a hiatus, and was able to settle on the asan one hour per day. So, in June I increased that successfully to 1 hr and 5 min per day, not missing a day. Then now in June, I am up to 1 hour and 10 minutes a day. The thing is, most often I am actually doing 2 hours per day. I believe that is a result of securing an increased minimal. That's one of the things Swamiji, and I have learned, other great teachers have advocated --- establishing a MINIMAL standard, that you stick to, like eating and sleeping -- it happens every day just about without fail. Some days I get close to 10 pm without completion and I get kind of nervous ... I don't want to blow it. A little aside ... I am not exactly following Swamiji and Maa's methods, because I now am doing far more meditation than puja. Plus my sessions are not at a set time. I am accomodating my life circumstances and furthering practices I started 30 years ago, concessions to both weakness and inspiration I guess. Jai Maa, lovely people. s aka raj aka bingo
Guest guest
Jai Maa, Raj Bingoanandaji! The important thing is to do it! To make that effort to consciously enter into God's Presence,[actually, of course, we are always in God's Presence, we just become more aware of it until we ARE it]. and you are doing it. To enter into the Golden Silence...the God Lit Silence...Om. , "Steve Connor" <sconnor@a...> wrote: > Hi Sangha. > > Wanted to give you an example of Swamiji's teachings in action ... > > I have been getting my sadhana back online after a hiatus, and was > able to settle on the asan one hour per day. > > So, in June I increased that successfully to 1 hr and 5 min per day, > not missing a day. > > Then now in June, I am up to 1 hour and 10 minutes a day. > > The thing is, most often I am actually doing 2 hours per day. Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA your post reminds me of myself in many ways. i too have been working to increase my sadhana gradually due to the group's, Swamiji and Maa's inspiration. and chanting the Guru Gita on thursday's has recently seemed to turn into a daily thing. it is amazing how these increases happen rather quickly with constant application. and its not the no pain no gain mentality we are so used to here in the US. i suppose it is like the story about the farmer story that carried the calf to the barn every day. one day he was carrying a cow. Guest guest
absolutely. this is exactly our situation. as shivapuri baba said, we "don't realize the magnitude of the problem." the problem being, the problem of existence, the condition of being separate beings. we don't want pain, we want bliss, but pain is one of the very first things we have to face. then we can have bliss later. , "ecjensen_us" <ecjensen_us> wrote: > OM NAMAH SIVAYA > > your post reminds me of myself in many ways. i too have been > working to increase my sadhana gradually due to the group's, Swamiji > and Maa's inspiration. and chanting the Guru Gita on thursday's has > recently seemed to turn into a daily thing. it is amazing how these > increases happen rather quickly with constant application. and its > not the no pain no gain mentality we are so used to here in the US. > > i suppose it is like the story about the farmer story that carried > the calf to the barn every day. one day he was carrying a cow. > > JAI MA > > , "Steve Connor" <sconnor@a...> > wrote: > > Hi Sangha. > > > > Wanted to give you an example of Swamiji's teachings in action ... > > > > I have been getting my sadhana back online after a hiatus, and was > > able to settle on the asan one hour per day. > > > > So, in June I increased that successfully to 1 hr and 5 min per > day, > > not missing a day. > > > > Then now in June, I am up to 1 hour and 10 minutes a day. > > > > The thing is, most often I am actually doing 2 hours per day.
