Guest guest
Our verse today- 168. There is one divinity, one ideal of perfection, one allegiance, the highest austerity. The Guru is the highest of the highest. There is no other principle beyond the Guru. Here is the Mission Statement of the Devi Mandir - We believe in One All-Pervading, Infinite Divinity, which resides in every being of Creation, and is especially manifest in the hearts of all humanity. That this Deity inspires within seekers sincerity, joy, love and wisdom, and the highest respect for all that lives. That all bodies are temples for the holy spirit, and that the duty of man is to honor God through loving service to all created beings, and attentive devotion in the pursuit of self-realization. The primary purpose of the Devi Mandir is to inspire the worship of Divine. Our goal is to create the desire in you to follow the example of the Sadhus (the efficient ones ) and the rishis ( the wise ones). These are not just historical figures. If you look around you, you will find these people exist today. We find such beings in Shree M Roman'">aa & Swami Satyananda Saraswati. By following their example well we become spiritual beings and satisfy the purpose of our existence. Some of us become the sadhus and rishis for future generations. The scripture of Sanatana Dharma (The Eternal Ideal Of Perfection) is never complete; each of us contributes in its writing by living the example. And the Mandir's explanation of the Guru - Guru : The syllable Gu means darkness, Ru means light. The Supreme Divinity which destroys ignorance is verily the Guru without a doubt. Guru is Brahma, The guru is Vishnu, the Guru is Lord Mahesvara. The Guru is actually the Supreme Divinity. The Guru is actually the Supreme Divinity, and all other expressions are links in the chain which bring us close to that realization. Through all the teachers, guides, inspirations, examples, of every realm of heaven and earth, the principle of Guru is what has shown forth. A spiritual aspirant must always show respect to the Guru. Throughout the Guru Gita, we find an admonition to offer respect and perform Seva, a selfless service as an expression of love for our Gurus. Guest guest
Guru is anyone or any energy behind any experience that causes us to become more peaceful, more surrendered, or more desirous of consciousness. Because of that, Guru is found in every moment of our lives. He is trying to get through to us all the time. It is up to us to recognize Him and learn the lesson He teaches, accept the experience He offers and acknowledge the divinity He presents. The final purpose of reality is to make us aware of Him, enable us to develop a relationship with Him, and Realize the Truths He wants us to Realize. While we do this, we continue to play the game that Maya has woven for us. But in the background of our hearts we see the game for what it is and we acknowledge the Guru within the Maya as well as within our Selves so that we may be liberated from our attachments to the world of objects and relationships. We must play our part, but we can play it for Him and offer it to him as service to Him. To reiterate, Guru is constantly offering us signposts that point to Him, constantly offering us lessons about our selves, constantly trying to connect with us to show us the path toward liberation. We only need to pay attention and wish to recgonize Him to connect and learn. Jai Gurudev.

Guest guest
IMHO, there is no right or wrong seva only different levels. The highest form of seva as explained by Beloved Swamiji in the introduction to the Guru Gita is “when we see an opportunity to demonstrate our love, and without being asked or told, we go out of our way to add value to another’s life”. There is nothing more than the Guru, Guru is all, brother, mother, father, friends are all our Guru without a doubt, so with this knowledge ever before us, whenever the opportunity to add value to another’s life presents itself this would seem to be the “right” seva. All good works of a devotee bears fruit. Offer the work performed to Guru knowing that you (generalizing here) are not the doer, only the instrument. Thanks ji.
