Guest guest
Namaste Chris, I believe I can answer some of your questions and the others I will forward to Swamiji . You said: As far as offerings are concerned, I seem to recall you used just samagri and rice on tour (is that correct?), for all but the initial offerings to agni. I have a commercial samagri masala. But I seem to recall someone saying that at the mandir you mix many ingredients with ghee for the offering. What would be best for this? Nanda says: The samagri masala offered at the Mandir is as follows 1)Rice 2)Barley 3)Black Sesame seeds 4)Sugar 5)Milk Rice is the predominant ingredient, with generous amounts of barley and black sesame seeds. Sugar and milk are added , but just enough so as not to make the masala too damp. I will ask Swamiji if he has an exact proportion to mix the above ingredients. You asked: When reciting with samputs I assume the samputs are grouped with their respective verses, so only one offering is needed for each group? Nanda says : An offering is made when you say "Svaha" , regardless of the samput length. I will forward your question on the Guru Gita Homa procedure.
