Guest guest
Wow, Brian. So much in your letter and more than I can assimilate at the moment. Unbeknownst to you (since you were responding to Elizabeth), there is much there for me to think about, too. You always have a way of putting things and for that, thank you. Guest guest
Thank you Berijoy. One thing I've noticed about posting to forums is how much meaning is lost in the words. I've been practicing translating my thoughts and feelings into text for quite some time but looking back I can see that I almost always fail to convey the meaning that I wanted to convey. I just get closer and closer... Sometimes, people's reactions to my posts tell me that I've communicated a meaning which seems almost contrary to what I wanted to convey. I call those "posting disasters" and I've upset many people in the past with them... I've resigned myself to my mistakes and karma and I let such instances go, attempting to learn how to be more clear and concise. Swamiji is a master of English efficiency. I'm always blown away by how much he manages to convey in just a few words. He often has dual or even triple meanings. I hope someday to be as clear as he is. In the meantime, if I've failed to convey a meaningful post and it has left anyone confused or irritated, PLEASE post and ask me to clarify. The learning experience for me is invaluable, and if I manage to find an analogy, allegory or some other way to bring across my feelings which helps you understand, then we both benefit. > Wow, Brian. Guest guest
communicating through this medium is difficult at best. i generally try and take pains (as you do) to make myself understood though i'm sure a few posts have gotten past me here or there over time. because we don't have the benefit of eye contact, or body and facial gestures, or voice tone it is easy to see how misunderstandings can simmer in this climate. i try and use little things that have been given to us (like internet acronyms or smiley faces, etc) to help. but who knows? at any rate, i think you do a terrific job!
