Guest guest
Dear Kalia and all, I'd like to share some thoughts about the 'back' of the deity. Muktimaa said in a recent post (I paraphrase) that the challenge is to see God, who IS all, shining through what to us seems ugly and terrible. This has really been a challenge for me this past week. Ofcourse terrible things happen all the time, but recent events in my part of the world really got to me. I felt awful, my sadhana suffered and I felt like I saw the 'back' of Mother as She walked away from me. I could see no light at all. All I could do was run after Her, crying. And then She stopped, and turned, and the world changed. I guess what I'm trying to say is that perhaps sometimes She does show us Her back, only to entice us to come running after Her, to teach us to rely on Her only and seek shelter at Her feet, with love, Henny , Kali Kali <kaliananda_saraswati@y. ...> wrote: > Dear (Nanda) and All, > > Thanks Nandaji, will change the linga back into position. > > I read the posts on direction of yoni in Shiva Lingam last night but was unable to respond (msn browser). A question came to mind though which I would like to share - True we talk about front and back but knowing that the thousand eyes of the Diety see everywhere and in all directions where exactly is the back of the Diety? Goddess Kali is the aspect of Mother to which this child is most drawn and I have never been able to visualize that Goddess as having a back per se, to me if She turns to whatever side it is just another aspect of Her Divine Self : where we perceive Her hair to fall to me is Durga / Parvati and Her glorious ears are Lakshmi and Sarasawati. No front nor back only constant energy flow. > > Jai Maa! > > > > , "Nanda" <chandimaakijai> wrote: > > Dear All esp Eric, > > I put together a rough picture of the position of the Devotee/Shiva > > Linda/Yoni and the cardinal directions .It is in a file called > > shivalinga.JPG and is in the Files Section of the group under the > > Beginner Shiva Puja folder. > > > > Hope this clarifies the direction question. Guest guest
Dear Henny, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Please accept love and prayers that all is well with you now. I understand very well what you have explained, have been that way many, many times. But Henny, let me share something with you. For the past couple of months, the major part of posting the Guru Gita, I had a situation with my daughter that at times it was as though this head would just blow away. It was rough, very, very rough but there was a choice to continue or to give into the difficulty. Amid tears at times I continued, because I felt there was a reason for all that had taken place. Guru guided this child not to see Mother turning away but rather to see Mother allowing this child to wash Her Beautiful Feet with offerings daily while placing all care and worry at Her Beloved Lotus Feet. At work I took cds of Maa and played with earphones to quieten the thoughts, chanted 32 names of Durga while driving and on evenings, there was the forum. In bed at night it was the tossing and turning - this was the worst part -when trying to rest, but though not always possible, this child tried and tried to recite any mantra. Some days sadhana was beautiful, other days It was a challenge but i was not giving into the "back". When did it end, Kalia has no idea, but today, my daughter is smiling again .. it is her birthday today and puja today was offered for her benefit. If at that time this child had not held onto Mother for dear life and pour it all at Her Feet, there is no telling where my daughter would be today. Jai Maa! Jai Guru! The mind plays lots of tricks on us, and Mother walking away is one of them. Mother would never turn away from Her child in the hour of need - remember the refrain of the prayer in the Chandi seeking forgiveness from the Goddess for the Commission of Offences - "a child can be bad but a Mother can never be bad". In the deepest darkness is where we find the greatest light, for this is when we call out to the Divine with all our heart. Tell me, friends of Love how far is that dark grove where the Blue One waits, languishing for love? Where is that secret heart? The Lord of the Universe dwells there in the enchanting for of my bekoved, the dark blue, long-haired Krishna His fragrance engulfs my soul. I am overcome with longing I cannot take one more step KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA Jai Maa. Guest guest
Dear Kalia, thank you so much for your kind response and for generously sharing your own experience. All is well now; I know Mother never turns away from Her children; as soon as I admitted I could not carry the burden by myself and asked for help, I found Her to be nearer than I had thought possible. She guided me back to Her by making me take the cd's to work (I wonder how many of us do that...), and recite the Kavacam in the morning and the MM mantra at night when I could not sleep. She made me write the post about the 'back' and now She speaks to me through you. Not so long ago, I read that to the question 'what is the purpose of doubts', Shree Maa replied: 'faith!', and I have often thought of that in these last few days. The path of surrender is not an easy one, and it takes us through some scary places. But there a kind of painful sweetness in giving up the idea of self-sufficiency, and if I am crying now, it is out of gratitude to Her. Your devotion is an inspiration to me and I am so glad to hear the situation with your daughter has changed for the better; if I get sight of the 'back' again, I will not give in to the illusion so easily and run to Her instead of away from Her. I bow to She who relieves difficulties, I bow to She who tears apart thought, I bow to the Mother of the Universe, JAI MAA! dear sister, may She guide and protect you always, with love, Henny , Kali Kali <kaliananda_saraswati@y. ...> wrote: > Dear Henny, > > Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
