Regarding Maa, I hope you had a chance to go to the website http://www.shreemaa.org and check out the page on Maa/Swamiji/Gurus etc. The bookstore (as recommended by a few others already) contains a nice biography of Maa by Swamiji and others, that is really well worth checking out. Also a book that introduced many of us to Maa is "Daughters of the Goddess" by Linda Johnson .
