Guest guest
Dear Friends, Om Namah Shivayah! Today our Beloved Swamiji talked briefly about the auspicious Sravan Month which began yesterday (5th). It is the month of Lord Siva. In India, devotees choose Siva Temples that they would like to visit and would then make pilgrimage to these temples. Before commencing their pilgrimage, they fill a pot with Holy Ganges Water, tie the same pot to the edge of a pole and carry the pole on their shoulder. In their other hand they carry a few possessions. And then they chant "Om Namah Shivayah" and head for the various temples in their "pilgrimage plan". At each of these temples, they pour some of Holy water over the Lingam. They are served free food at tea-stalls and by devotees and free stay at temples. Swamiji mentioned a venerable saint who would would walk all the way from Ganges in the North to Rameswaram in the south, every year (Shri Tiwariji?). May Lord Siva bless us with pure devotion, regular sadhana and fill us with the spirit of compassion for all. Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji! with love and prayers, srini
