Dear all,

Henny's comment had me thinking. I was wondering if everybody would

share their SINGLE MOST favorite piece of devotional poetry with the

group.

 

I am pretty sure that most of us have more than one, but if you can

play favorites and choose it would be great. I would be happy to

collect these poems into one document and put them in a folder for

all of us to savor.

Jai Maa!

 

Single most favorite devotional poem:

 

In the morning I remember the Foremost, She who shines

like the autumn moon, who wears a shining necklace and

earings of fine jewels. Who holds the divine weapons

in her many beautiful hands. Who's feet are the lotus

of deepest devotion. The giver of divine life, the

Highest Divinity.

 

(Bhagavati stutih, p. 420 in the old Chandi book,

first verse)

 

This verse brings tears of joy! Victory to the

Highest, the Mother of the worlds!
