Day 5 Shiva puja class

After offering the camphor we will continue

by adding some more mantras for purification plus part of the

Gayatri viddhi. See pages 15 -18 in the Advanced Shiva puja.

The Gayatri viddhi starts with the gayatri mantra on page 16 and

ends on page 18 with "om aapo jyotiirasomrtam.....)

All of these mantras from page 15-18 you will just recite aloud.

There is no physical offering here.

Start with " om payah prthivyaam paya osadhiisu........

"om earth is a reservoir of nectar.........

end on page 18 at the top with "om aapo jyotiirasomrtam

brahma bhuurbhuvassvarom."

Please note: om bhuuh, om bhuvah, om svah, om mahah, om

janah, om tapah, om satyam are the 7 levels of consciousness

from the gross level (bhuvah) to satyam (sat cit aananda) true

existence, consciousness, and bliss.

There is a very good explanation of the 7 levels of

consciousness in the book Shree Maa: the Guru and the

Goddess (page 55 sutra #6) available at

http://shreemaa.org/bookstore.htm

Homework: Please read these mantras aloud from page 15 to

top of page 18 either from the Sanskrit or transliteration and read

the English. Please share any ideas or questions you have.

Look forward to hearing from you all.

Om namah shivaaya!

Parvatiji,

I have no questions, but would like to share some thoughts:

this morning I was reading the Rudri and found: "those who know the

Supreme continually look to the divine within, which is established in

all existence" and it reminded me of the first set of mantra's we've

added today: "may all perceptions shine forth with the sweet taste of

nectar for us". May we see with divine eyes, and, as the honeybee, go

straight for the honey while thanking the flowers for letting us know

the honey is there.

Regarding the seven levels of consciousness: they seem to 'illustrate'

what happens as a result of the increase in our meditations granted by

reciting the Savitri Gayatri (is that the correct term?): the increase

in our perception of the Light of Wisdom until there is nothing else.

It is beautiful!

thank you very much for your guidance,

may the Lord white as jasmine bless you always,

Henny

Thanks for your earlier responses on the bell and camphor.

There is no question at this time I just wanted to share the thought

that as I read the transliteration of "om payah prthivyam

..........." - "om Earth is a reservoir of nectar, all vegetation is a

resevoir of nectar, the divine atmosphere is a reservoir of nectar,

and also above."

I could not help but thinking of Beloved Mother Shree Maa's song - You

grant the best of all the worlds (Oh Dark Night Mother). The divine

nectar is everywhere, waiting to flood our being, if only we would

wake up.

May all perceptions shine forth with the sweet taste of nectar for us.

Om namah Sivaaya

Jai Shiva,

thank you, Parvati, for walking us through the puja, and sharing your

knowledge and expertise. this is a rare privilege and gift to us.

the repetition of the mantras nourishes the soul and makes my faith

come alive. the puja becomes a powerful conversation with Shiva.

Swami gives a nice translation of the Gayatri Viddhi verses. I would

like to know why the Gayatri Viddhi goes after the worship is started

since the mantras are declarative, and purify all the three bodies and

beyond. one would think we would start our puja with this set of

mantras first.

thanks to Nanda for the picture of Shiva Lingam. I have mine

positioned properly now. Jai Maa!

>>Take the name of God even once, bingo, home free.

thank you. Ramakrishna mentioned so many times in his discourses to

devotees: one must have "real faith". He also called it "powerful

faith".

Jai Ram and Love to All,

Kumari
