Guest guest
Jai Shiva, and Love to All. Sri Ramakrishna said, "Nothing whatsoever is achieved by the performance of worship without faith." Since faith is so important, I have two questions for everyone but especially for Parvati. How do we instill faith into our worship? And, how do we continually increase our faith? Guest guest
Kumari Maa asked: How do we instill faith into our worship? And, how do we continually increase our faith? Namaste Kumari Maa, Thank you for these two wonderful and relevant questions. I have often thought over these questions and have found the answer in "satsanga" By hanging around the people, either online or real time, that have the faith , that have the devotion and that demonstrate their devotion is the biggest boost to faith that I get. To get inspired, I like to hang around people that are inspired. And then because the best way to show how much I appreciate what they are is to put their recommendations to practice, I keep at my worship. It is really "Prathamam Shailaputrishca , Dvitiyam Brahmacharini .etc etc" Sometimes when my mind labels any ritual as "boring", I switch gears and sing instead. Or demonstrate as seva. Or read the biography of a saint. So many ways to keep on the track ... but the important thing is to be on the path. Like Swamiji said once "there is no other kind of life that I would rather have" Thanks for your question. JAI SHIVA Nanda

Guest guest
Jai Shiva, thank you Nanda and Karen for your kind and thoughtful replies to my questions. you have reminded me of the importance of seva, satsangha, sacred study(Brahmacaarini), and worship; all tools to keep us focused. I'm grateful to be a part of this satsangha where everyone shares their inspiration and faith. there are not many places to find such sincere devotees and spiritual friends. aren't we lucky! Jai Maa! Guest guest
Dear Kumari Maa and all, what has helped me very much is this: looking at Shree Maa's picture, the one given to us recently here on the group's website. Whenever I'm worried, or have doubts, or am afraid, I look at Her (I carry that picture with me everywhere ). When I have trouble doing what I should be doing, or when I get distracted during puja, I think of that picture and She tells me to keep going and not to worry. JAI MAA, Henny P.S. and I agree with Nanda; satsanga is very important; thank you all for being here! And I agree with Karen; seva helps, all kinds of seva. Doing the dishes without complaint can be an act of faith too. -- In , Karen <forall10q> wrote: > Sometimes satsanga isn't strong in my life though I very much agree with Nanda about its importance. Like Kumari, I wrestle with faith--a lot! When I get very discouraged about my lack of faith (and since I don't really have satsanga available the way Nanda does), I use seva, all kinds of seva, as a way to help me. Seva is my "bridge over troubled waters". 10Q, Karen > > Nanda <chandimaakijai> wrote:Kumari Maa asked: > How do we instill faith into our worship? > And, how do we continually increase our faith? > > > Namaste Kumari Maa, > Thank you for these two wonderful and relevant questions. > I have often thought over these questions and have found the answer > in "satsanga" > > By hanging around the people, either online or real time, that have > the faith , that have the devotion and that demonstrate their > devotion is the biggest boost to faith that I get. > > To get inspired, I like to hang around people that are inspired. > And then because the best way to show how much I appreciate what > they are is to put their recommendations to practice, I keep at my > worship. > > It is really "Prathamam Shailaputrishca , Dvitiyam > Brahmacharini .etc etc" > > Sometimes when my mind labels any ritual as "boring", I switch gears > and sing instead.
