Guest guest
Like Grace, I have family and friends that I would like to list but they wouldn't understand about a sankalpa. In the Christian culture, we don't ask people for permission to pray for them; we just do it. If I asked my family and friends if I could pray for them, they would think that odd. Nanda asks: Is it absolutely necessary for us to inform our recipients that we are praying for them? Sometimes we pray for people that we have heard of are in trouble, but dont know personally. Also, like in Karen's case there is discomfort in case of ridicule from others. Can you please advise Swamiji ? Thank you for your time. Swamiji's response:No, the rule is not absolute. The prayer is more effective when we are one in our intention as well as one in the execution. But it is still valuable to pray for others, even if they are not conscious of our efforts. On a subtle level they receive the blessings that we communicate.
