Mars, Sani, Hanuman

Last night we chanted the mantras for the 9 planets with Shree Maa -- one mala

for each and

10 for Mars. Afterwords we did arati to Ramakrishna and sang 4 songs to Lord

Shiva.

 

I love Mars, Maa said. Mars is very strong right now. Mars is a great planet who

supports

truth and righteousness. When Mother Earth was burdened by the duality She

prayed to Lord

Shiva, and Shiva and Parvati's son Kartikeya was born to slay Tarakasura.

 

Saturdays we celebrate Hanuman puja. Maa also told a story last night of

Hanuman, Ravana

and Sani. Ravana had all the gods and planets under his control in Lanka. One

time Sani was

on his shoulder and told him to be a good boy. Ravana said, hey you're just a

little pidgeon

bird on my shoulder and you're telling me what to do, get lost. Well when

Hanuman came to

to town and took care of business, Sani was so happy with Hanuman. He told him

to ask for a

boon. Hanuman replied that he only wanted Pure Devotion. Sani said, ok ok, but I

still want to

give you a boon. Hanuman said again, just give me Pure Devotion. Well Sani gave

him a boon

anyway. Anytime if Saturn is giving problems, if you pray to Hanuman then you

will get relief.
