Day 10: 3rd Monday in Shravan

Today is the 3rd Monday of Shravan, another great day to

remember Lord Shiva. If you have time you can practice the

enhanced Beginner Shiva puja and/or recite the Rudri.

 

In Sanskrit the sankalpa will say: Shravan maase, krishna

pakshe, chaturthi tithau.......

 

It is also the 4th day of the moon cycle, a good day to remember

Lord Ganesha as well. Perhaps you can add the

Ganeshyatharvasiirsam(the Highest Meaning of Lord Ganesha)

to your sankalpa. (pg. 49-63 Adv.)

 

Quick Review :

 

1. recite Shiva gayatri (pg.6 Beg.)

2. recite Shiva dhyaanam (pg.11-13 Adv.)

3. offer the light, incense (pg. 13-14 Adv.)

4. Offer camphor (aaraatrikam pg. 15 Adv.)

5. Recite mantras from page (15 -23 Adv.)

6. Recite rest of beginner shiva puja (pgs. 10 - end)

Start on page 10 with the purification of the asan:

where it says "Draw the following yantra with some drops of

water........

 

Next class we will add some mantras to the purification of the

asan.

 

May Lord Shiva bless whatever sankalpa you take today.
