Guest guest
Dear All, Yesterday, on the occassion of Janmashtami celebrations, Maa sang several songs to Krishna. One of the songs , in particular involved Maa calling out "Govindaaaa" in the middle ... it was more a kirtan than bhajan in that we repeated the same line with different variations .... and of course Maa calling out to Govinda... I tell you ... when Maa called out "Govindaaaah" , it instantaneously became my most favorite name of all time. Maa also sang/read out from the Chapter 16 of Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit and Swamiji translated in English ... Here it is from Chapter 16 "Having no fear, being pure and true, being established in wisdon and union, being a giver, having self-control , performing sacred fire ceremonies, study of the scriptures, purifying austerities, the purification of knowledge; causing harm to none, truthful, without anger, renunciation, peacefulness, without deceit, compassionate to all beings, without desire, gentle, modest, without fickleness ; light, patience, constancy, purity, no enmity, absence of pride, belong to those who are born to divine qualities, oh Descendent of the Light of Wisdom(Arjuna)" "Hypocrisy, arrogance , self-conceit, anger , irritation and even ignorance, are the characteristics which belong to those born to the qualities of the forces of division" JAI SHREE MAA JAI SWAMIJI Nanda
