Guest guest
Om namah Shivaaya to all! Today is the 4th and last Monday of Shravan, another great day to remember Lord Shiva. If you have time you can practice the enhanced Beginner Shiva puja and/or recite the Rudri. In Sanskrit the sankalpa will say: Shravan maase, krishna pakshe, ekadashi tithau....... Quick Review : 1. recite Shiva gayatri (pg.6 Beg.) 2. recite Shiva dhyaanam (pg.11-13 Adv.) 3. offer the light, incense (pg. 13-14 Adv.) 4. Offer camphor (aaraatrikam pg. 15 Adv.) (be careful!) 5. Recite mantras from page (15 -24 Adv.) 6. Recite rest of beginner shiva puja ( start pg. 10 - at the bottom) May Lord Shiva bless whatever sankalpa you take today. "tanme manah sivasamkalpamastu" "May my mind be filled with the firm determination of Shiva, the Consciousness of Infinite Goodness." (from shiva samkalpa stotram page 31-43 advanced shiva puja) Om Namah Shivaaya!

Guest guest
Dear Parvati, thank you for the answers to my questions concerning purity, which help me understand why and how we do things. Today, by grace of God and Guru, I completed my Shiva puja and Rudri recitation sankalpa. The text of the Rudri is indeed very beautiful; I especially like chapter 8, in which we are taught that if we give up our own ideas of limitation, we find everything in ourselves/Self. Perhaps I also like this chapter because recitation is relatively easy:). A question: I noticed that there seem to be many words and sounds in the Rudri which are unfamiliar. The language seems a little different from the Sanskrit of the Chandi. Is this because it is an earlier, Vedic text? Just curious... with love, Henny , "parv108" <parv108> wrote: > Om namah Shivaaya to all! > > > Today is the 4th and last Monday of Shravan, another great day > to remember Lord Shiva.
