Guest guest
Add 5 more for me. Didn't have a great deal of time, but even with the kids jumping on me and not being 100% on the rhythm or familiar with all the particular Sanskrit, it still went okay. At least I managed that much for now. Have to get back to work. I found a really nice online recording of both the Ganesh Atharvasirsham and the Phalshruti (though it was a little longer than ours and ever so slightly different). It really helped me learn at least one rhythm that felt good. It is on the site for Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple in India. Really beautiful murti. Their homepage is http://www.siddhivinayak.org and their bhajan download page is http://www.siddhivinayak.org/bhajanaudio.htm Another nice one just of the Athavasirsham is at http://www.adwaitjoshi.com/atharvashirsha.php One other that I didn't particularly care because it was too hard to follow for me, has both parts and is at http://www.ashtavinayak.net/atharvashirsh.php I had another recent recording of it from Anandi Ma and Dileepji on their Mantras for Abundance CD. They do it very slow, which was really nice and powerful. I did it that way once with the recording and then added our Phalshruti, as theirs was slightly different and a little shorter. Here is one question for Swamiji that I hope you can pass on Nanda Ji: I know that both quality of the repetition and the number of repetitions is important but which is more important? Would it be more beneficial to chant one, slow, repetition with serious concentration as opposed to lets say 11 repetitions faster without the same quality of concentration? Jai Ganapati Mahadev! Jai Maa!
