Jai Ganapati Deva, dear family of Light!

i was looking in a drawer this morning for something, and lo and

belold, i came across some old notes i had written a very long time

ago about Lord Ganesha. i sent them to our dear Swamiji this morning

asking Him if it would be appropriate for me to post them and i heard

back from Him in a very short time. He said: "Very appropriate.

Please enlighten the family. Thanks."

Wow! i deeply thank dear Swamiji for His continued guidance! Jai

Ganapati Swamiji!

Here are the notes:

LORD GANESHA

Why is He depicted with an elephants head? Why is He sometimes

depicted sitting on Parvati's lap, and called "Her son?" Why is His

Vahana [vehicle] the mouse or rat? Why is He shown holding a broken

tusk or tooth?

*I had never felt satisfied with most of the explanations found in

books, etc.[*muktimaa's note to Swamiji--This was before i had any of

Your books....smile.]

One day, in the early 1980's i was in a deeply meditative state, when

i started drifting into a lucid dream state. Suddenly, all the

questions i had been asking myself about Lord Ganesha started to be

answered very clearly.

One translation of "Guru" is "heavy". The elephant is the "heaviest"

creature on the Earth. The human, as well as our "Inner Guru" helps

to remove our spiritual obstacles. Ganesha is known as a "God of

Prosperity" and "Remover of Obstacles." Of course, again, that is why

He has an elephant's head; because the mighty elephants trunk removes

obstacles from our path.

Ganesh, [as the Guru] is Shiva and Parvati's Son. [The Son of God.]

Ganesha's vehicle is the humble mouse because the Guru must be as

strong as an elephant, yet as humble and gentle as a mouse. Also, if

you have ever had a mouse try to find it's way in to your abode, you

know that it is relentless! It will not give up until it reaches it's

goal. It WILL find a way.

Lord Ganesh holds a "broken" tooth, showing that we must ever be

ready to sacrifice for Truth and Wisdom. It hints at the "law of

Karma". [An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.]

Also, the form of Ganesha represents the Holy Sound Vibration of AUM;

He is the Word made flesh and the Lord of Light.

Ganesha is always invoked first, because we must always honor our

inner and outer Guru first in all of our prayers and undertakings;

for He is the "Dispeller of Darkness", which is another translation

of the word "Guru."

Ganesha, [i believe] is the same archetype as Horus in the Isis,

Osiris, Horus Egyptian trilogy. He is also baby Jesus in the Joseph,

Mary, Jesus trilogy. And as i mentioned before, as "Dispeller of

Darkness" He is "Lord of Light". Aum.

Jai Chandi Shree Maa! Jai Ganapati Swamiji! Jai Thakur Ramakrishna

Deva! Jai Ganesh Atharva Sirsham Sankalpa!
