Guest guest
Tarpan Viddhi Dear All, Last night Swamiji reminded us the importance of remembering our ancestors. The tarpan viddhi which can be recited daily during this pakshe as well as everyday can be found at: http://shreemaa.org/stories/Tarpan_Viddhi.pdf There are also a few more mantras not included here which can be recited in the Cosmic puja book on pgs.327-329. May all of our ancestors be pleased with our effort.
Guest guest
Nanda I'm a day late but want to make this offering/participate in this ceremony. What is the date of the 15th day? What is Mahalaya Amavasya? Also, when does Navaratri start? Is there a particular form used in making the dedication? I'm thinking of the form used at the start of a daily puja where one states what Country, State, City, Dwelling, Month, Day of Week, Aspect of the moon Sukra/Krishna, etc. Is it intended that some form like that be used as a dedication for the offering? Guest guest
Namaste Dan, Mahalaya amavasya is another name for the 15 th day of the Pitri Paksh and it falls on Oct 2nd this year. Navaratri starts the next day ie Oct 3rd. Re the sankalpa, Swamiji has told us to recite our normal sankalpa and then indicate in English (or any language one is comfortable with) the intention of the puja in English. So for example , I would say "Om Adya Jambudvipe ....Nanda kritaitat,Pitri kamah (For pleasing my ancestors), puja karmaham, Mahamrityunjay mantra cha Gayatri Mantra cha Tarpan viddhi karishye" Hope this helps. Please let me know of further questions Jai Maa Nanda , "Dan" <dhkerrmail> wrote: > Nanda > > I'm a day late but want to make this offering/participate in this > ceremony. > What is the date of the 15th day? > What is Mahalaya Amavasya? > Also, when does Navaratri start? > Is there a particular form used in making the dedication?
