Guest guest
Dear All, Today's photo decision was one of the toughest that I had to make. Our beloved Muktimaa sent me so many beautiful photos that made this process very delightful. Many of the pieces in her altar seem to have a story (just like Surya's did). There is a brass murti of Kali that she then hand painted, a beautiful pashupathinath lingam ... Perhaps it would be best if Muktimaa were to describe the altar in her own words... The altar can be viewed at / Tomorrow we fly to Barbados and Kalia's place. JAI MAA Nanda for Good Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. Guest guest
I think it would be great if these photos were stored in some folder and we could open them in a larger size to really get a good look at these great altars. Is this possible? - Nanda Monday, September 19, 2005 10:55 AM The Picture Show - A visual feast from Virginia Dear All, Today's photo decision was one of the toughest that I had to make. The blue Goddess in the center of the main center altar is called "Vakra Kali". She is really beautiful! i wish you could see Her face close-up! there is a 15 inch Kali Murti on the left side and in front of Her is a very incredible 8 armed Kali Murti from Nepal. She was unpainted brass when i got Her, but i completely painted Her, and i watched Her really come alive!!!! In the middle is a very wonderful black stone Lingam from Pashupathinath Temple grounds in Nepal. On the right is a very beautiful silvered Durga Maa.[i painted Her Face]. The small wooded altar to the right has Shiva Murtis. The tall one is an unusual Nataraj without the usual circle of flames. There is Nandi with a cobra, and a Pancha Lingam with Pancha cobras over it. To the right of the large Shiva is a murti of a Tibetan form of Shiva called MahaKala. And of course, above the main altar is a glorious painting of Lord Shiva, where He has just opened His Eyes. Above Him is Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Vivekanandaji, and Anandamayima. the large photo in orange on the left is Paramahamsa Yoganandaji. There are also various pics of Durga and Shiva, Ammachi, and a large poster of our Shree Maa. i hope this helped a little. Perhaps later we will get some uploaded into one of our photo folders. i would have already done so, but i have been having problems trying to do it. Just when i think it is going to work, i get that nasty "This page cannot be displayed". LOL! Sharing pictures of devotees altars is very inspiring for me! i hope it is for you! BTW, Manoj ji! When we bought this Home in the woods 7 years ago, it was a dream come true. Over the last 30-35 years or so, i have never had a separate puja room. My altars have been dressers, cardboard boxes, steamer trunks and oriental rugs. i smile when i think of all the varied altars i have had over the years. i wish i had pictures of all of them! Well, i do. In my heart... Love and bliss and Jai, Jai Maa! muktimaa > , Nanda <chandimaakijai> > wrote: > > Dear All, > > Today's photo decision was one of the toughest that I had to make. > > Our beloved Muktimaa sent me so many beautiful photos that made > > this process very delightful. > > > > Many of the pieces in her altar seem to have a story (just like > > Surya's did).
