Guest guest
Hi Sangeeta, Just one small clarification - while it is good to chant the Chandi any day , chapter 12 says the 8,9 and 14 days of Krishna (dark fortnight) paksha is specially recommended. Jai Maa Nanda , "Nanda" <chandimaakijai> wrote: > Namaste Sangeeta, > Re the specific way of doing the Chandi - you can chant in all the > ways that you have mentioned. > ie - chant at the fire - do a homa. Guest guest
I'd like to add that the most powerful part of the entire Chandi is Her Mantram. OM AIM HRIM KLIM CHAMUNDAYE VICHE. (S)he who masters Chandi's Mantram becomes Her Perfected Devotee. Say it out loud, as loud as you can, make your voice echo and reverberate. Listen to the many different tones that will manifest within your head while pronouncing it slowly. Say it as slow as possible, stretch out your breath, and focus solely on the sound. When reciting the mantra 108 times, do it slowly with full attention and devote thought to the way it sounds. Always do the Mantra slowly and with power, strength, and resolve. Play with that mantra like you would an infant with tender love, affection and careful attendance, and that infant will Grow into the Goddess and take residence within your heart. That Mantram enables the rest of the Chandi Patha to perform Her work on your mind. So, to state it yet another way, The more you say that Mantram, the more energy you give Her to adjust your mind to make Herself a suitable Home in which to Reside. Guest guest
Merry meet, Brian, Nanda: I am really grateful for the helpful and prompt replies from you two - this is really going to be of great help to me. I am a great devotee of the Goddess, and the chandi path is becoming very addictive - I try and listen to it more often because of its' enchanting music/mantra that draws itself to me. The 8,9 and 14 day of each paksha = forgive me if i'm wrong, does paksha mean every half-lunar cycle? In that case, the 8th day would be the 8th day from the new moon/full moon respectively, and so on? I will ask my dad about this, but I would like to know from you nevertheless. The beej mantra - 108 times.. it is simply beautiful! I love listening to it, I will definitely take your advise and play around with the recital of the mantra, Brian. Another thing, My mentor just asked me this question, and I am asking you over here - does not 'stotram' mean 'invocation' , and keelakam mean 'protection'? Usually, the protection (equivalent to a *circle casting* in Wicca) is performed before the 'invocation' of the goddess..Am i right in understanding the meanings of the words? If so, why is the argala stotram recited before keelakam in the chandi patha? Thank you again for your insights, love and light, Sangeeta. , Brian McKee <brian@s...> wrote: > I'd like to add that the most powerful part of the entire Chandi is Her > Mantram. > > OM AIM HRIM KLIM CHAMUNDAYE VICHE. > > (S)he who masters Chandi's Mantram becomes Her Perfected Devotee. > > Say it out loud, as loud as you can, make your voice echo and > reverberate.
