Guest guest
Shiva puja class day 17 Om namah shivaaya! Hopefully all of you have become familiar with the extended mantras for the offerings at the end of the Shiva puja book. After all of the offerings have been made you recite 108 times om namah shivaaya(pg.27 beg. book) and the 108 names of Shiva (pg.27-48) After reciting the 108 names of Shiva it is time to dance and sing! Arati is performed along with the song `Jai shiva om kaara.' pg.49-54 On page 54-55 recite Shiva's pranam. It starts : `om mahaadeva mahaatraana..... At the end of the pranam is the Shiva Chalisa(pg.55-65) which can be sung or chanted. Homework: Please read pgs. 27-55 and the Sanskrit, Bengali, or transliteration of the Shiva Chalisa. Read the English as well. Practice the extended shiva puja with all of the extra components. Remember that practice is one of 9 Durgas along the path to perfection. Note: Since Durga Navaratri is coming up if you like to do puja to Durga you can incorporate the extended mantras but substitute Durga's mantras in the appropriate places. Or you could do Shiva puja extended and add Durga's dhyanaam, gayatri, nyasas, rosary of 32 names of Durga, and or 108 names of Durga, japa and anything else you feel inspired to do. May Shiva and Divine Mother bless us all and this universe! "May my(our) mind(s) be filled with the firm determination of Shiva, the Consciousness of Infinite Goodness." (from shiva samkalpa stotram page 31-43 advanced shiva puja) "tanme manah sivasamkalpamastu" Om Namah Shivaaya! This will conclude our extended shiva puja class. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions or share any ideas. Many, many thanks to all of you for participating in this online satsang. Guest guest
Dear Parvati, thank you for the last lesson of the Shiva puja class. I have one last question:) it's about the chalisa, where it says (Ayodya name): should I recite my own name instead of Ayodya? again, many thanks for guiding us through the puja, with love, Henny -- In , "parv108" <parv108> wrote: > Shiva puja class day 17 > > Om namah shivaaya! > > Hopefully all of you have become familiar with the extended > mantras for the offerings at the end of the Shiva puja book. > > After all of the offerings have been made you recite 108 times > om namah shivaaya(pg.27 beg. book) and the 108 names of > Shiva (pg.27-48) > > After reciting the 108 names of Shiva it is time to dance and > sing!
