Guest guest
Question from James Cristian: I wanted to know, what are the most auspicious days to do havan during the month with relation to appearance days, disappearance days and moon cycles. Are some days more auspicious than others ie full moon to do homa and where can I look this up? Nanda's tentative response: The auspicious day would depend on the deity for whom the homa is dedicated to . So if we doing a homa for Kali for example, the 14th day of Krishnapaksha or Amavasya would be the auspicious day. Swamiji, could you please confirm. Thank you for your time Swamiji's response: Yes. Any day is auspicious. There is never a time when the Gods do not like to receive worship. However some days are more auspicious than others. Take a look at http://www.shreemaa.org/festivals.htm which mentions several auspicious days. Question from James Cristian : Also when it comes to the end of the fire sacrifice do we just let the flames go out by themselves or can we extinguish them ourselves? Nanda's tentative response: We extinguish the fire during the Purnahuti. Swamiji can you please confirm? Thank you for your time Swamiji's response: Yes.Pour milk over the burning coals.
