Guest guest
swamiji, since olive oil remains liquid and is easier to use for homas, i have been using it instead of ghee. then i was told i should not because of its chemical properties when heated(no further explanation), and because its not "traditional". since my family background is from the middle east, i feel an affinity to olive oil anyway, and i figure if the hindus could grow olives perhaps they would use it as well as ghee. and doing homas in the cold when ghee is a solid is not as easy, as i have to constantly melt the ghee over the fire (which i suppose is not really a big deal if thats what it takes) still, is olive oil acceptable or should i use only ghee? namaste, kalidas
