Guest guest Posted October 18, 2005 Report Share Posted October 18, 2005 What would be the most important items to include on an altar if one is in a space (such as a trailer) where there is no room to have a permanent altar set up at floor level? I have an altar set up on a bureau, but it looks a bit of a mish mash. I remember reading in "Sahib Sadhu" that you (Swamiji) would perform puja with whatever was around you, such as leaves, and that you did this wherever you were, under whatever circumstance. Swamiji's response: I recommend that you organize your worship in the most convenient and conducive manner possible, and then spending the least amount of time, energy and resources necessary to maintain that worship. It is my opinion that if you recite the mantra with love and devotion, the necessary articles and decorations will appear. If you spend more of your time trying to find the articles and organize the altar, then you will have less time to learn the mantras.
