I seem to recall reading that in Bengal, the night

before Divali is celebrated as Kali Puja. So this

sankalpa seems especially appropriate.

Jai Jai Kali Maa !

Dear Ramya and All,

Thank you for the wonderful suggestion of the sankalpa

of 1000 names

of Kali for 9 days, just in time for Diwali - the

festival of lights.

I looked at the panchang corresponding to the Bay Area

and it fits in

with the dates you already suggested.

So we can begin our sankalpa of chanting on the 24th

October and

conclude the 9th day of chanting on the 1st of

November which is

Diwali.

I will put up a poll to find out how many of us would

like to join in

and ask Kali to remove our darkness.

Thank you Ramya for this timely suggestion.

JAI KALI MAA
