Guest guest
Dear Swamiji, In the Second Episode, in the slaying of the Great Buffalo Demon (ego), he changes shape during the battle. I understand this to be the forms our ego changes into, to defend itself. The only part I can make sense of is the beginning. That the Buffalo is the grossest or most extreme form our ego. It is then humbled to the Lion, then to human (later changing again). The human part is something I see all the time when someone is humbled (or at least confronted), either in person or third person (gossip!): They have the attitude as if to say, "Hey, I have feelings too, I can make mistakes, I'm only human!". They then slowly grow again through the subtle forms or at least subtle strength. I would 'guess' the human coming forth from the Buffalo's mouth would be a last ditch attempt to "talk your way" out of destruction, again seeking pity through the human form, but the story not being bought the second time around. I would be greatful if you could share your insights as to what the different forms represent in the stages of ego. thanks, tom
