Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA when i read the posts about the Kali sanskalpa and how everyone is enjoying it so it really makes me laugh. in a sort of sarcastic kind of way. as that has not been my experience at all. i know that many of you are probably vegan and don't have the proper cheese to go with the w(h)ine so i'll save it. but suffice it to say that my experience has not been positive nor enjoyable. i feel i have called on Kali with the entire amount of intensity i have available and now i almost wish i hadn't. about now if i was to create my own 1000 names for Kali they wouldn't be PG. 0r even R. but I made the commitment to it so i will continue. or maybe it is more like the train wreck, where you can't look away. my advice would be don't call on Her unless your really prepared for Her to come. She uses a shovel before the sword. and about now all I can say is UNCLE!! sorry i'm not all "blissful" about this and happy jack like but you asked for our experiences and I am just speaking the truth, for me anyway. but i will see it through and can't wait for Lakshmi. Guest guest
Namaste. I pray that you do not mind my responding to your mail and do forgive the length. I do not pretend to know what is happening in your world but just wanted to share with you the fact that I made this same mistake some years ago. I was making daily japa of a Kali mantra, the first couple of days felt really wonderful and then with out warning everything in my world seemed turned upside down. I did not at first relate it to the mantra but the pressure kept growing and growing and appeared too great to bear so I discussed it with someone whom I thought would know why these things were happening and who would guide me in the right direction. Maybe the person thought they were helping and in a very nice way, made me believe that the things all started happening since the chanting of the mantra began. I immediately stopped. I remember telling Swami Satyananda about the topsy turvyness in my world and when He suggested what was wrong I responded "since I stopped the mantra all was well." Swamiji never responded but today I know that I was very very wrong to stop to this day, this child is still seeking Mother's forgiveness for this error and trying to get back to the place where this soul once was. Eric, please do not make this same mistake, stay with the mantra, ask the Goddess for strenght to take you over this hurdle you cannot get to Lakshmi without first embracing Kali. Ask your Guru's guidance, ask ShreeMaa or Swamiji for help but do not give up this opportunity. You already have the support of the group, take the support of someone much much spiritually stronger than the entire forum. While I do not like to do this (and I pray Guru's forgiveness) I will take a chance and go a little further just so you understand the depths of our Divine Mother. During that same period of halting the mantra, I had a dream where I was walking with this male person, ahead of us was a bag lady who carried a transparent bag on her stomach filled with her worldly possessions. The male with me wore a red baseball hat. A gust of wind came from nowhere and blew the hat from his head but instead of picking the hat up, he continued on walking. The bag lady immediately turned around looked him in the eye and said "Is that the hat i gave you"? Her speech was so direct and eloquent that it startled us both, what bag lady speaks like that? He immediately took the hat up but this time he wore it with the peak turned backward. Again, I never related this dream to the suspension of the mantra and only recalled it a few minutes ago while sitting with Mother after completing Day 5 of our sankalpa. Maybe it was recalled for you benefit as I could not forget your post since reading it today so I ask Swamiji's advice on it and He suggested that i write to you. May Divine Mother strengthen, comfort and direct you. Jai Kali Maa. Guest guest
Dear Kaliananda and Eric, I hope you don't mind my responding to your post.. "I remember telling Swami Satyananda about the topsy turvyness in my world and when He suggested what was wrong I responded "since I stopped the mantra all was well." Swamiji never responded but today I know that I was very very wrong to stop to this day, this child is still seeking Mother's forgiveness for this error and trying to get back to the place where this soul once was. " ***this is very interesting to me ..that you wrote to Swamiji and he did not respond because I had a similar experience a few weeks ago, asking him about something of great personal importance regarding my practice and having no response (after he had earlier talked to me about the very same subject with great enthusiasm). After I thought about it, I realized that I knew the answer on a very deep level already and that I was being directed to that knowledge. Told, maybe, to "grow up" a little..it was time to do that. When I read this excerpt from your post, I though about that experience...but I was also confused by what you said afterwards..about "wrongness", "forgiveness" and "trying to get back to a place where your soul once was"..I wondered what you mean by that and I was confused that you had held onto the feeling of having made a mistake for so long. I think perhaps I don't understand what you have said but I found it very troubling.Pardon me if this seems "rude", I don't mean to be that but I don't understand what you said in this post to Eric regarding your feelings. "Eric, please do not make this same mistake, stay with the mantra, ask the Goddess for strenght to take you over this hurdle you cannot get to Lakshmi without first embracing Kali. Ask your Guru's guidance, ask ShreeMaa or Swamiji for help but do not give up this opportunity. You already have the support of the group, take the support of someone much much spiritually stronger than the entire forum." This seems like very very good advice to me...Kali is incredibly powerful and her "job" is to cut away illusions. She will not stop until she has done so..it can get very very difficult and it can also be very very ecstatic...two points of a "pair of opposites"...there is incredible bliss in the freedom of letting go but we cling with great desperation to our attachments...In my experience, the bliss comes when the layers have been peeled away but, many times, not DURING the "peeling process"... those layers are who "we" think we "are"...letting go of them can be a huge challenge for all of us and the challenges are peculiar to our own individual incarnated karmas. with love, sadhvi
Guest guest
Dear Sadvi, In re-reading the post it does appear as an attachment guess while responding to Eric a bit of emotion got in the way, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Your post is beautiful and much appreciated and I am happy that you responded.
