Guest guest
As we hear more about the ten MahaVidya aspects associated with Kali, I like the image of Shiva fleeing to each of the ten directions, and finding a MahaVidya goddess there. You cannot escape from Shakti, she is everywhere! I recall the following set of associations between the directions, planetary gems, and the Maha Vidyas... East - Chinnamastika (Sun, ruby, Sunday) South - Bagalamukhi (Mars, coral, Tuesday) West - Bhuvanishvari (Saturn, blue sapphire, Saturday) North - Tara (Mercury, emerald, Wednesday) South-east - Dhumavati (Venus, diamond, Friday) South-west - Kamala (Rahu, hessionite, eclipses) North-west - Matangi (Moon, pearl, Monday) North-east - Shodasi (Jupiter, yellow sapphire, Thursday) Below - Bhairavi (Shukla paksha, tiger-eye, Waxing Moon) Above - Kali Mata (Krishna paksha, hematite, Waning Moon) Try facing the assocated direction, and invoking each Wisdom Goddess at the appropriate time.
