There is another Mrityunjaya mantra in the Rudri, although it is not

as well known. It is Om Trayambakam Yajaamahe Sugandhim

pativedanamUrvaaruka miva Bandhanaaditomukshyeeya Maamutah (ch 6

verse 5 of Swamiji's Rudrastadhyayi)Swamiji's TranslationWe worship

the Father of the three worlds, who emits the excellent fragrance of

the wisdom of the Lord. As a cucumber is released from its bondage to

the stem, so may we find liberation in the unity of oneness. My

UnderstandingWhen we see the cucumber as being bound by the stem, we

think that the cucumber is in bondage. But, our perception changes

when we understand that the cucumber is not bound by the stem but is

in fact the very source (seed) from which the stem arises. In the

same way when we understand that we are the very source of creation -

then there is only the ONE - we become free or liberated.

Dear jaishreemaa ~ thank you so much for sharing this. My soul totally

resonates with the meaning you suggest here ~ we, the cucumbers, not

only are not bound by the stem, but we are One with it as the very

seed from which the stem emerges. Makes me want to do drawings of

cucumbers hanging on the stem. Of course, they would have to have

gold light around them for the proper effect. Jai Maa ~ Linda
