As I recall, you are a TMer, too. Is that right? When I first "met" Shree Maa and Swamiji, I was concerned about my practice. I would never want to abandon TM, and Maa and Swamiji said to incorporate. So I did. And I am very happy with the results. Jai Maa! Dear Karen ~ yes, the calendar is from Maharishi's site. I learned TM about 30 years ago, same as you ... interesting. My initiating meditation was incredible. They did a little puja type ceremony, which somewhat surprised me since all my dealings with getting information about TM had been promulgated more toward the science and benefits to the body. Then I went into a little room alone, after I had been given my mantra, and the instructions (which I apply to all kinds of situations all the time). At first I was just silently doing the mantra, aware of sounds, remembering to let go and return to the mantra, aware of thoughts, remembering to let go and return to the mantra, and then, the next thing I was aware of was that I "woke up" in outer space. I could see the cosmos, all the stars, planets, milky way type formations, all sparkling in a beautiful dance. My first thought was "where am I." Then I realized and just accepted the experience. The next thing that happened was the person coming to get me after the 20 minutes were up. I have continued to do TM, on and off, over the years and recently had the good fortune to be checked. I am really happy to hear about what Shree Maa and Swamiji told you about your TM practice. For so many reasons, I need to get back to it more regularly. At the very least, the experience is deeply relaxing, at the very best, I dive so deep, that "I" am gone, yet when I "come out," I realize I was there all along. It is a paradox, like the feeling when "I" am gone that the space my being is in is both light and dark at the same time. Anyhow, I very much appreciate your note. Thank you.
