Guest guest
Dear Linda, First you pour a little water into your right hand, sip it and swallow. You do this 3 times or 6 times depending on which puja you are doing . After that you take a little water and pour it into your right hand and clean your hand because it has just touched your mouth. Then you wipe your hands with a towel or paper towel. Swamiji always keeps a towel within arms distance so he doesn't have to move from his asan. He also has a roll of paper towels nearby as well. A: If you are doing puja then you want to use the water on your altar to rinse the mouth and hands. Swamiji always keeps a small container of water by his asan and he will recite the mantras for washing the mouth and rinse his mouth with the water accordingly even if he is just reciting a straight recitation and not doing a puja. Q: Okay, this question might sound a bit ... personal, but what does Swamiji do with the water after he has rinsed his mouth? Does he swallow it? Does he keep a container to spit the water into?
