Guest guest
Two dear beings who came to one of the first yagnas in Concord in 1984 were Sarvananda and Maitrai. Their bhava (word in Sanskrit meaning "attitude of life in love") was always in tune with Mother and Swamiji's bhava, and they were also singers who at the drop of a hat would break out in a happy barbershop quartet-style "Down by the Old Millstream" or "When the Saints Come Marching In". They were the ideal couple in that they had respect for one another, for Mother and Swamiji, and all of life. Their lyrics and melody for this song and for many other songs are greatly appreciated here at the Devi Mandir and are sung regularly.
