Guest guest
it can mean 2 things. 1 is there is no time to waste. time is short here. 2 is, the mind is very tricky and persistent. so you have to be more persistent. you have to build up some energy and determination. so say 'do it quickly' the same way you apply determination to the physical when you need to get something done -- fast and effective. that way it gets done, and doesn't hang around on a to-do list! caveat -- we might need to say 'do it quickly' and mean it 5 billion times, or say it only once. that is up to the infinite. as devotees of the eternal way, we have only to do. , "sadumaa" <sadumaa> wrote: > > Please could someone say more about the line in this devotion "very > quickly try to renounce the attachments to your home". > Thank you, > Om Shanti > > , devotee <shree_maa_devotee> > wrote: > > > > Daily Reflection > > December 22 – Discrimination > > > > Wipe all the dross of sin from your mind, search for the faults in > the pleasures of the world, search your own soul for true knowledge, > and very quickly try to renounce the attachments to your home. > Shankar Acharya 700 A.D > > > > from Siva Puja and Advanced Yajna > > Copyrught 1998 Devi Mandir Publications > > First Edition > > www.shreemaa.org > > > > > > > > -- > ------------ > > Love and trust in God. "Inner Renunciation" is what is implied here, i believe. "Inner Renuciation" is one of the greatest virtues a true devotee can have. When we are able to lessen our desires and attachments and pracice that sweet "Inner Renunciation" we experience contentment, which is so precious and leads to great peace. Exactly, Steve ji! We never know when our last breath will occur..so let us not put off what we can and must do now. May all of our desires and attachments culminate into one desire and attachment: God > > 2 is, the mind is very tricky and persistent. so you have to be more > persistent. you have to build up some energy and determination. so say > 'do it quickly' the same way you apply determination to the physical > when you need to get something done -- fast and effective. that way it > gets done, and doesn't hang around on a to-do list! > > caveat -- we might need to say 'do it quickly' and mean it 5 billion > times, or say it only once. that is up to the infinite. as devotees of > the eternal way, we have only to do. > > , "sadumaa" <sadumaa> wrote: > > > > Please could someone say more about the line in this devotion "very > > quickly try to renounce the attachments to your home". > > Thank you, > > Om Shanti > > > > , devotee <shree_maa_devotee> > > wrote: > > > > > > Daily Reflection > > > December 22 – Discrimination > > > > > > Wipe all the dross of sin from your mind, search for the faults in > > the pleasures of the world, search your own soul for true knowledge, > > and very quickly try to renounce the attachments to your home. > > Shankar Acharya 700 A.D > > > > > > from Siva Puja and Advanced Yajna > > > Copyrught 1998 Devi Mandir Publications > > > First Edition > > > www.shreemaa.org > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------- ---- > > ------------ > > > Love and trust in God. Guest guest
it is so much work, and it is the best work. a good time to offer another thank you to swamiji, maa, and everyone here. the devotional practices have been very good. up to then i had been studying and meditating, but knew nothing of pujas or bhajans. now we do a little every day. it makes a big difference. devotion and knowing, both together, holding hands. peace, s. , "muktimaa" <muktimaa@a...> wrote: > > , "Steve Connor" <sconnor@a...> > wrote: > > > > it can mean 2 things. > > 1 is there is no time to waste. time is short here. > > Exactly, Steve ji! > We never know when our last breath will occur..so let us not put off > what we can and must do now. Guest guest
a guru named Siddharameshwar said to deny the world and mind any reality and anchor yourself in that, then you can have detachment. , "muktimaa" <muktimaa@a...> wrote: > > , "sadumaa" <sadumaa> wrote: > > > > Please could someone say more about the line in this devotion "very > > quickly try to renounce the attachments to your home". > > Thank you, > > Om Shanti > > Beloved Sadu Maa, Jai Maa! > "Inner Renunciation" is what is implied here, i believe.
