Namaste Karen & Nanda,

I was part of a group pilgrimage with Gurudeva when we met the Dalai

Lama in Dharmsala, India in the Himalayas. We sat on the floor with

him for over 1 1/2 hours. The following are some notes on the Dalai

Lama from that time from one of our group.

"I am just a monk and a scholar," he said -

But to hear the sound of his voice, to hear and watch him laugh, to

watch him gesture when he made a point or couldn't think of an

English word - it was like you've always known him - so familiar and

recognizable - how unweird - how unearth shattering - how natural to

be crowded around him on an afternoons day somewhere in the Himalayas

-

Yes Nanda he is ( so down to earth ) and I feel so free just relaying this experience.

With Love to all.

Kanda

Hi Karen,

I share your sentiments - but really like the Dalai Lama (so down to earth) and

Richard Gere (should we invite him to post on our group?)

Love

Nanda

Swamiji's answer to a recent question. The hugely tolerant acceptance of Devi

Mandir is the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. (After watching the recent

Barbara Walters' special on Heaven, I was very disappointed in the narrow

beliefs of many religious people.)
