Jai Maa, beloved family!

When i posted the lyrics to "Like No Mother At All" earlier today, i

had found them in the Devi Mandir Songbook, but it didn't say who had

actually composed it. Today, i was looking through my copy of "Shree

Maa The Life of a Saint" and came across the section where devotees

related some of their experiences. In that section there was a

contribution by a devotee named "Sarvananda"; he and his wife, Maitri

were original members of the Jaya Maa band which played in the Devi

Mandir as well as at other Satsangs and temples. Sarvananda is the

one who wrote "Like No Mother At All", along with several others.

i will reproduce here what Sarvananda says about it in the book:

"During the early years of our association with Maa and Swamij I had

written several songs for Maa that my heart had felt compelled to

express. It somehow just seemed as if the songs wanted out! Typically

the process would start with a line in my head that would eventually

galvanize into a song over a period of time. One of those songs,

which tries to describe the joy and bhava mentioned above is called "

Like No Other Mother at All."

He then say, "In absence of musical notations just imagine it lively

and joyous!"

He then shares the lyrics. Thank-you so much Sarvanandaji! We love

your beautiful tribute to our beloved Shree Maa! May it continue to

ring in the sounds of endless Joy for many years to come!

P.S. Our Gautam, who has recently started posting and is a long time

devotee of Shree Maa and Swamiji, was also an original member of the

Jaya Maa band. Sarvanandaji mentions his "sweet fiddling"! :<)

Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji! Jai Thakur Ramakrishna Deva!

Your sister dissolving in Maa's love,

muktimaa
