Dear Nanda ~ wow! I'm glad you added a few qualifiers to the

introduction. This is just the kind of thing that makes me want to

dive under the bed. : ) I am saving all the wonderful information,

though, in hopes that I will someday actually be able to chant 180

malas without falling over. Bhu Devi (Sanskrit, or possibly Malayam

.... you could check with Swamiji), our Mother Earth is in need of our

care, as Shree Maa so well understands. And what a better sankalpa ...

to include as part of my hour (in answer to Swami's question again).

I have a couple of questions. First, I am assuming all the Proper

Names listed above the mantras are the names of the planets, yes? If

so, do they have any correlation to the planets as they are

designated in Western thought (Earth, Mars, Venus, etc.). Second

would the Nine Planet Mantra book be a good resource for this

sankalpa? I also wanted to share another mantra I was taught to say

for for Mother Earth; it is the Gayatri Mantra for Bhumi (Bhu Devi):

Om Vasundharaya vidmaheBhutadhatraya dhimahiTanno Bhumih prachodayat

Another I was taught:

Om hrim shrim klim Vasundharayai svaha

Here is a question for Swamiji.

Dear Swamiji ~ are either or both of the mantras above appropriate and

acceptable to say as part of this sankalpa for Mother Earth? Many

thanks ~ Linda

do them sitting down,

and then fall over :)

make a plan/budget for it -- for instance every Sunday for Surya, 10 malas, and

like that

for each of the planets on it's day week after week until you finish the

sankalpa

Sunday - Surya

Monday - Chandra

Tuesday - Mangal

Wednesday - Budha

Thursday - Brihaspati

Friday - Sukra

Saturday - Sani

Rahu and Ketu - any day
