Karen, I thank you so much for all your work, and for giving this new option to people who would prefer to just read the names. Being a person myself, who, because of my illnesses is very challenged in terms of energy for a certain course of time (or practice), I very well understand the need for some things that people like me can participate in and feel a sense of having some meaningful practice in our lives. On the other hand, since Swamiji told me it was okay to recite in bed, that is his wisdom in helping me feel I can practice. So I choose the longer version of the prayer list because, like you, these are my friends, I know their joys and troubles, and I applaud their successes (something which, as you know, was very difficult for me initially because I always feel so far behind). And, I can do the full recitation of the list and the MM Mantra because I am able to do it reclined on my bed. When I think of how I have felt sometimes, I am reminded of the section in the video, "Across the States with Shree Maa and Swamiji." A truck (or something) with an open back (or something attached) is slowly going through the streets of a neighborhood. Shree Maa and Swami are sitting in the back, accompanied by their devotees, and they are singing songs. The people in the neighborhood are waving and smiling, and once or twice, someone starts to run after the vehicle, drawn by what they are seeing and hearing. I don't think they all made it, but I remember the one fellow who just kept at it until he got close enough to jump on the back of the flatbed. That is how I feel ... I am running to jump on the flatbed ... but even in the running, what I see, hear and experience keeps my (theoretical) feet (thoretically) pumping. LOL If anyone can make sense of this, I'll be thankful. The Devi Mandir Digest Group Ki Jai! ~ Linda
