Guest guest
Om Swamiji, Can you please offer insight regarding two questions I have been contemplating? First, can we ever truly escape the karma of our families of origin? I am recognizing how very deep and far reaching are the tendrils of such roots. If so, how do we cut these bonds? And secondly, what is the ultimate way in which we can be of service to the world? Thank you. Om Shanti

It is not possible to escape one's karma. It is however, possible to rise above it so that it has little effect on one's life journey. 2. The highest service to humanity is to become enlightened and spread that peace across the land by setting the example for others to follow. The Chandi is one physical implementation of the method by which to find the answers to both questions at more than just an intelectual level. Guest guest
Dear Sadumaa, Please pardon my interruption here, this is by no means meant to replace Swamiji's response or to purport that I know the answer to your question, but as I read your mail I could not help but see my favourite Chandi Chapter2 verse 38 at play here: "Her Feet stood upon the earth, ...... the twang of Her bow string sent fear through the seven regions of hell! Whenever I get to this verse Mother seems to take the form of a tree. The seven regions (the tree roots) to me represent, the ancestral tree : GreatGrand parents, Grandparents, Parents and self. Mother's Feet are at the crown of the worshipper and by unceasing pray and devotion She will raise our consciousness beyond the imagination. In verse 39 we see how Mother used each of her arms in service to Her children to protect us from the karmic thoughts and tendencies. This may be far from what it means but thanks for asking this question and causing this thought in the mind. I do look forward to Swamiji's response.
