This is not due to my will, believe me. I am hesitant to even say this is happening because I don't want it to stop! lol! I did try, on Sunday, to use my new copper homa kund (a small one I had bought this past Summer). The fire was BEAUTIFUL!! I was ECSTATIC!! But then the smoke alarms went off...so I had to do japa mala instead, without homa. It's very cold here in New England so I am not sure when it might be possible to go outside to do homa but I am REALLY excited about it!!!! (which is why I asked for the photo of Swamiji and Maa..). I am hoping that I will be able to "complete" my sankalpa with the homa practice...but, again, I kind of hesitate to say it out loud (or write it down) because it's such a major thing! I have so much sympathy for those who have expressed doubts and issues with energy, time and health. I am just in the "recovery phase" from a long chronic health problem and have to be very careful about pushing at myself the way I did in my younger years. Sometimes it is very challenging to understand how much is "enough" and how much is the ego taking over and forcing things. And, also, how to simply accept the gift of the practice sometimes "doing" itself without feeling it has to do with my "will". What I am learning lately is the key is SURRENDER and OFFERING...keeping focused on who this sankalpa is FOR....The Divine Mother in her form as this beautiful planet..not for "me" and my personal concerns of "too much" or "too little". It puts all of the other concerns into a manageable perspective when I think about what BhuDevi would really want from all of us: Loving Attention. I am thinking alot about her everyday as I do this sankalpa...looking out at the trees, rocks, birds, sky, clouds...so aware of what an incredibly precious place this is...and what a gift to be able to give something back. best luck to everyone......and thanks to Shree Maa and Swamiji, sadhvi
