Guest guest
Dear Ramya, Thank you for such a caring and thorough response to my question about Navarathri. Even though I have been with the digest for some time, I still have trouble remembering when things are going to happen. I wonder if someone ~ Nanda?, Parvati? ~ can give us a few days heads up for the other three Navarathris this year. I looked at the 2006 calendar in the files section, but I didn't see mention of specific festival dates. If I've missed something, please let me know. All of your ideas are wonderful. I almost always say the Durga mantra at least once a day, but I will make a sankalpa to make sure I do it everyday until the end of Navaratri. And I will recite the 32 Names of Durga each day. I don't want to try to do much since I'm also working to do the Mother Earth Sankalpa, but in a sense, for these days of Navarathri, they kind of overlap. Part of my Navaratri sankalpa will be that I will dedicate my recitations to the welfare of Mother Earth, a living manifestation of Devi. In the last digest, I said I was going to wait until next week to begin to say the correct mantra for each planet on the right day, but last night I felt an undeniable urge to get started right away, so I chanted the Brihaspati mantra, 1 mala, and the hand pictures really helped. Most of you know of my illness and so I start off with baby steps. But chanting this mantra gave me a wonderful feeling all over and around my body. There is truly something Cosmic about this Cosmic Sankalpa. : ) I have a couple of questions related to the Mother Earth Sankalpa that I want to ask Swamaji, but I will put that in a separate email. And blessings to you, Raj to complete your own Navarathri sankalpa ~ Linda
