Dear List,

This was in the Boston paper today....Shani's Day!

"Saturn is a gas planet 9times as wide as earth with such a low

density that if you could put it in water, it would float. Saturn

has no surface; if you descended through its cloud decks and tried

to land you'd find nothing but more cloud decks and increasingly hot

and thick atmosphere down and down. Saturn may, however, have a sort

of a surface very deep inside. Nearly halfway to the center of the

planet, you would probably fall onto an ocean of liquid nitrogen

but, by this depth, the atmosphere would be almost as dense as the

liquid metal... the planet itself pales compared to its rings.

Imagine an immense, flat landscape of sunlit sand, rubble and

boulders under black space with more black space showing through the

ground..the whole ring plane is so large that if it were the size of

a dinner plate, Earth would be a marble rolling around its edge..."

This is just part of a long article about Saturn, which can be

seen in the sky right now...it really fired my imagination to think

about this mysterious planet with its rings and moons, visible from

our Earth through binoculars!! And all of us, sitting in our

respective homes, chanting ancient Vedic mantras to Saturn/Shani

today, asking for protection and blessings for our beloved Earth

planet!

best,

sadhvi
