Guest guest
Dear All, According to the lunar calendar based on the San Francisco sunrise time, the Mandir will be celebrating Maha Shivaratri this year on Feb 25th. This is also mentioned in the calendar at http://www.shreemaa.org/festivals.htm Hope this helps. Latha

San Francisco shows Saturday, February 25, 2006 for Mahasivaratri and Albuquerque shows Sunday, February 26. For both cities the moon is in Makara Rasi ( Capricorn ) on Mahasivaratri. Guest guest
Hi, Forgive me. When did this change or did I just read it wrong the first time? Didn't it say 2/26 earlier? I scheduled all our celebrations around this date, but want to be accurate. Thanks, Surya - Nanda Wednesday, February 08, 2006 4:03 PM Maha Shivaratri this year Dear All,According to the lunar calendar based on the San Francisco sunrise time, the Mandir will be celebrating Maha Shivaratri this year on Feb 25th.This is also mentioned in the calendar at http://www.shreemaa.org/festivals.htmHope this helps.Latha

Guest guest
So 2/26 is only right for India but here it should be 2/25? Everywhere else on the web said 2/26. I would actually have preferred it to be 2/25 because that is Sat and then all can stay up much easier, etc. - Nanda Wednesday, February 08, 2006 5:13 PM Re: Maha Shivaratri this year Hi Suryaji, There was an update to the calendar made about a month ago - and since then the Shivaratri date has been 2/25 Hope it is not too much for you to reschedule Jai MAANanda , "Mahamuni" <mahamuni wrote:>> Hi,> > Forgive me. Guest guest
I always find this so interesting. Even the Hindu Temples of California are divided down the middle on the subject with the predominance going towards the 26th. How does one view the lunar calendar for their specific location? What exactly do you look for to tell which is the right day?
