I really appreciate all the details, and though I didn't copy your entire post here, I copied the whole thing for my own "homa" file. Sometimes I really miss being in the DC metro area...lots of Indian stores. I remember one in Silver Spring where I used to go and buy bhajan tapes. There was also an Indian jewelry store I frequented where I got a lot of really wonderful semi-precious stone beads.
