In the mid-afternoon, when I would normally take my nap, instead I chant the mala for that day, at least twice. Since doing this, I have found I don't need to nap as long as I did before. Then I say several more malas in the evening, several hours after dinner. Because I live in a trailer, I just go in the bedroom, which has become my "temple" due to privacy, and chant how ever many I can before I run out of energy. It seems that since I started, the number of malas I am saying is slowly increasing. What I would like to add is some chanting in the morning, after I get up and am awake. So far I have not been able to fit Rahu or Ketu in, and I think I will only be able to do it, if I add morning chanting. I have no way of having a homa, so it is just me and my new rudraksha mala. I do have one question, though. How does the Cosmic Puja fit into this sankalpa? In the beginning, I thought it did in some way, so I bought a copy. But so far it hasn't been mentioned in terms of the sankalpa. Is there a place for this puja? And, if so, would reciting several chapters a day be a good way (for me) to include it? I realize others might be able to recite the entire puja, but at present, that is not possible. Although, I will add that, since starting this puja, I have been surprised how, even in my own limited way, I have been so drawn to reciting the malas and to listening to the cd. I can imagine that my capacity is growing, and that seems amazing to me. Bhu Devi Ki Jai ~ Linda
