Question about mantras

teresa, you can ask nanda or swamiji or others for their specific

answers. since you asked the group i will try to help.

swamiji is a very powerful guru who will never say he is powerful. he

is extraordinarily knowledgeable. but he is never lost in his

knowledge. his mind is deeply anchored in the primary purpose of all

the practices.

all the mantras are freely given by swamiji and shree maa. if you read

it in a book it is yours. there is no witholding. this is a tremendous

advantage.

you can go ahead with the durga mantra but there is not a conflict, we

can do any mantra.

we need to be clear about our purpose. mantras have been created for

everything. but what is your highest desire. mine is to dissolve mind

or ego and that is the only purpose i put to a mantra.

on the old web site there was a saying from maa: "ask only for god,

don't ask for anything else." that should be applied to mantras to get

the best benefit of the mantras and to illuminate the highest aspect

of one's association with the guru.

outlines of both Durga and Shiva puja. as far as mantras go, Since

Durga is a primary focus for me, should I continue to use her mantra,

or how is one given. I am a bit confused.
